(Type S Masonry Cement)

Type S masonry cement is a high strength mortar for laying concrete block.

You can use a premix mortar (Quikrete's Mason Mix) that is a mixture of type S mortar and mason sand pre-blended for you, all you need to do is add water.

If you mix your own mortar use a ratio of 4 to 1 mason sand to type S mortar.
